THE OMNI PARKER HOUSE

The Omni Parker House was founded by Harvey D. Parker in 1855 and is one of the oldest and longest continuously operating hotel in the United States. Here great writers like Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne, and Longfellow met and  baseball legends  like Babe Ruth, Ted Williams and local and national politicians—including Ulysses S. Grant, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Colin Powell,  William Jefferson Clinton, and Deval Patric joined for private meetings.

Years of famous and notable figures have passed through Omni Parker and rumors have it that some may have never left...

The Omni Parker House is rumored to be one of the most haunted locations in the city. Guests have reportedly seen an apparition in the halls or in their rooms, described as a 19th-century gentleman. This is speculated to be the spirit of Harvey Parker, who built the hotel in October 1855. Other reported paranormal activity includes lights turning on and off, voices and footsteps coming from empty rooms, and uncalled elevators stopping at the third floor, where Charles Dickens and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow would often stay.
